Wiloc digitalizes scaffolding for Aramco in Riyas

On the scaffolding project delivered by Técnicas Reunidas for Aramco in Riyas, Saudi Arabia, Wiloc will deploy a comprehensive digital solution to strengthen safety, operational control and regulatory compliance across all scaffolding-related activities. Designed as a phased, scalable platform, the system enables real-time supervision of scaffolding access, verifies that only authorized and properly qualified personnel can enter, and provides the project with an additional layer of control and traceability over one of the most critical activities on site. In a project of this magnitude, the cumulative volume of scaffolding will exceed 80 kilometers throughout the execution, reinforcing the need for digital tools capable of bringing visibility, control and safety to this activity.

The proposal combines smart devices at access points, LoRaWAN connectivity to cover the entire site and a centralized SSMS (Scaffolder Safety Management System) platform that acts as the operation’s command center. On this foundation, Wiloc integrates real-time monitoring, the worker’s digital passport, certification management, role-based permission control, safety alerts, event traceability and digitalized inspections, transforming scaffolding management into a safer, more automated and auditable process.

One of the differential elements of the solution is its ability to link physical scaffolding access with the real-time validation of the worker’s competencies. Thanks to digital passports and access rules based on certifications and permissions, the system can verify whether a person holds the required qualifications before authorizing entry, reinforcing compliance and reducing operational risk in the field. Furthermore, the solution evolves into a complete enterprise platform, incorporating dashboards, KPIs, advanced analytics, digitalized inspection processes and Scaftag management, remote device administration and integration with other corporate systems. With this project, Wiloc reinforces its position as a technology partner for the digitalization of complex industrial environments, providing tools that elevate safety, improve operational governance and enable smarter management of on-site scaffolding work.
