On the Balance of Plant (BOP) project for QatarEnergy in Ras Laffan, awarded to Técnicas Reunidas as part of the development of new off-plot facilities associated with North Field South, Wiloc contributes a digitalization solution aimed at strengthening safety, traceability and operational efficiency for on-site personnel. The proposal extends the infrastructure already deployed in EPC-4 and enables unified management of worker monitoring across BOP and future project packages.
The solution is based on more than 1,000 personal devices with GPS positioning and LoRaWAN connectivity, integrated into the Wiloc IIoT platform to provide real-time visibility of worker presence and location, SOS alert management, infrastructure status and the generation of operational and analytical reports. On this same foundation, the project also incorporates the Digital Permit to Work module, enabling progress towards digital permit management linked to the actual location of personnel in the field and to the control of critical activities in work zones.
With this deployment, Wiloc reinforces Técnicas Reunidas’ digitalization strategy in Ras Laffan, providing technological continuity, scalability and a unified view to improve safety, operational control and the traceability of activities in one of the most demanding industrial environments in the energy sector.
