Wiloc joins ADNOC’s $3.6 bn MERAM project

ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) has awarded the joint venture formed by Técnicas Reunidas and NPCC the development of the MERAM project (Maximizing Ethane Recovery and Monetization), a strategic initiative aimed at maximizing the recovery and monetization of ethane from residual gas, with a total expected investment of $3.6 billion. Within this large-scale industrial project, Wiloc contributes a digitalization solution focused on strengthening safety, operational visibility and intelligent personnel management on site.

Wiloc’s proposal integrates presence monitoring, automated access control, real-time positioning, alarm management and a digital passport on a scalable cloud platform, with capacity to manage up to 15,000 workers on site. Based on long-range Bluetooth Low Energy technology, the solution provides continuous and reliable information on who is on site, where they are located and how personnel presence evolves throughout the operation.

One of the system’s most valuable contributions is its impact on safety in critical situations, as it supports plant evacuation control in the event of danger or emergency. Through its Presence Control and Head Count capabilities, the platform makes it possible to quickly determine how many people are in the field, where they are located and how to manage a more orderly, agile and safe evacuation, improving response capacity to any incident.

With this project, Wiloc strengthens its position as a technology partner for the digitalization of large industrial environments, providing tools that not only optimize daily operations but also raise the standards of safety, traceability and on-site efficiency.
